It was a random & last min. meet-up with Sue on
friday evening. she suggested tt we go & hve ice-cream
at Ben & Jerry's @ Dempsey Road. we've nvr been there
& we hve no idea exactly where it was. hence, we looked
for directions online. *you must be thinking "why the heck
we go so far when there are other outlets right?"*
we just wanted to explore & the experience was kinda fun
& thrilling actually, to be able to go to new places tt u've
nvr really knw tt they actually exist!!
anyway, met up with sue & headed down to commonwealth
mrt station. met-up with dani (sue's bf) there & took 105
down to holland rd. we're supposed to alight at the 6th stop
bt we missed it. Hence we alighted at Gleneagles Hospital.
we had to walk towards Botanic Garden and walk further
up a hill for another 10mins. since we thought we're lost,
we hailed a cab & told the cab driver to head to blk 8.
Pakcik: Nk gie blk 8 buat aper? kan saner bnyk pubs aje.
Me: Tk cik...kitorng nk gie Ben & Jerry's mkn ice cream.
Kitorng tk pernah dtg sini, so tk tau jln..nk explore2 jer...
Pakcik: Oh...situ ader ice cream eh?
Me: Ar2 cik...kt situ ader ice cream..
And less than 5mins ltr we reached. OMG kn!!! *slaps forehead*
tkper lah...only $5 jer...(actually less bt halalkn jer eh...)
once we're there, we're amazed by the ambience of the
place...So relaxing & nostalgic...aftr the waiter had showed
us to our seats, we made ourselves comfy before making
our orders over at the ice cream counter.
Just sme info for you.
- There are several pubs arnd Dempsey Hill.
- You would expect to see expats & business men arnd
driving Ferrari/Lamborghini.
- At this Ben & Jerry's outlet, you cn either dine in, hve
desserts (cakes/ice creams/smoothies/etc) or hve a drink
with your friends as they hve a bar too.
- The pricings are a little bit more of on the ex side.
- Drive/ride your own transport as it is not readily
accessible by public transport.
- But if you hve to, flag a cab up the hill (if you don't mind
paying abt $5) unless you don't mind losing your way.
To get there.
Route 1:
From Commonwealth MRT station, take bus 105 &
alight at the 6th bus stop at Holland Road (opp.
Pierce Road). Walk down to the main junction & up
the hill (stick to the pavement pathway). You'll cme
across the church below and walk towards your right.
Walk straight all the way in & follow the sign that
shows the direction to Blk 8. The walk will take abt
15-20mins.
Route 2:
From Bukit Batok MRT station, take bus 77. Alight
at the Gleneagles Hospital bus stop. Walk up towards
Botanic Garden & follow the pathway on the left side
of botanic garden. You'll arrive at the main junction
& follow the same route as stated in Route 1.
Route 3:
From Dhoby Ghaut MRT station, travel towards
Gleneagles Hospital bus stop & follow the same route
as Route 2.

Our next ice-cream outing would be Island Creamery.
